Amanda Keiser
A Midwestern girl at heart, she was forced to move to Houston totally against her will 16 years ago.
While it was a struggle at first, she now calls Texas her home.
She is a graduate from UT Austin where she majored in Government and minored in Russian. NO she can't speak it anymore. After moving back to Houston, after graduation, and being bored out of her mind, her father suggested she check out this SSQQ place.
In January, 1996 she walked through that front door as a student, was promoted to instructor that October and has been there ever since.
She has taught everything from Western and Cha Cha to Tango and Salsa plus a few things in between.
She now focuses her efforts on terrorizing unsuspecting western dance students with her military-like style.
Just kidding, sort of! |

Anita Williams
Began dancing disco in the late 70's (Not by choice, Mom had difficulty finding babysitters) and won 2nd place in an Indianapolis competition in 1978 (I developed early, so they waived the minimum age requirement).
Began taking lessons at SSQQ in 1995, and joined the staff in the fall of 1996.
I teach Two-step, Polka, East Coast, and am just beginning to teach West Coast Swing.
I started dancing competitively in 2001, and currently dance on the SSQQ dance team "Heartbeat".
Most recently I placed 5th all around at the Fun Country Nationals in 2001, with 1st place in East Coast, 2nd place in Cha-Cha and West Coast. I'm also a licensed Frottage Instructor.

I have a bird named Sam. He's a yellowhead that talks better than I do, and a
dachshund. I work full time as a Personal Trust Administrator.
I'm single, no kids, and like to do just about everything. When I started dancing, to overcome my nervousness I used to imagine all the other dancers naked.
I'm not nervous anymore, but I still do it anyway. I have a reputation of being the class cut up and all around
mischievous bad girl. Most recently placed 1st overall in the underwater basket-weaving championships, Hot Tub
Division, 3rd in the compulsories, but first in the long program. My dancing experience and aerobic exercise really paid off. |
