I attempted dancing for the first time when I hesitantly signed up for the Beginning Two-step Crash Course at SSQQ one Saturday in September 1997. I later decided to commit to a full month and registered for the Beginning Two-step/Polka class that October. Although I planned to only take classes for a couple of months so that I wouldn't embarrass myself on the dance floor, I quickly fell in love with the art of dancing. During the time since, I've taken numerous C&W classes from the beginning levels through Death Valley and began assisting in March of 2000. I have also learned Whip/West Coast, Western Waltz , Swing, and just a smidgen of Salsa and Merengue. I have been assisting M.G. Anseman on Sunday nights since January 2001.
Although a native Texan, I grew up in Ascension Parish in South Louisiana, near Gonzales. My prior careers include working as a bridal consultant and as a piping designer. Although I waited many years before attempting college, I eventually earned a BS in Accounting from LSU and an MBA from HBU. When I'm not out dancing, working on my home or running, I work as a financial analyst in the Oil Industry. I credit all of my gray hairs to my two grown children, David and Alida.
