OKAY, OKAY, It's Primitive, but here is
the only material I could find from 1998. As a point of interest,
ssqq.com was first published in August 1998, but it took me a couple months
to figure out how to construct web pages and publish to the Internet.
I didn't know much about data backup, so I have no idea where some of the
stories referred to in this document ended up. Oh well.

Susie Allen and
Judy Archer did a nice deed this Christmas. They organized an
SSQQ Christmas Present Drive for Ben Taub Hospital here at the
studio. It was a wonderful success thanks to them and thanks to
all of you. A picture is worth a million words, so take a gander
at all the presents you contributed ! Thank you ! |

THE
SSQQ LIP SYNC SHOW
was
quite a hoot.
It was inspired by the show we saw
on our Caribbean Cruise this summer.
I decided we definitely needed to give it a try.
We
had the big show on Saturday, November 21.
If you want to read more about it,
click here or over on Elvis |
We took about 200 pictures. If you attended
the party, it is likely we shot you ! Inquiries about your
picture should be made to

The 1998 SSQQ
Halloween Party
was incredible !
We had 350 people in
attendance this year, certainly a record.
We also had our
first-ever Haunted House as an entrance. Much credit to Judy
Archer for organizing the project, and special thanks to Randy
Goshorn, Linda Cook, Timm Chavez
for helping to assemble the million parts. Also thanks to
Kelly Baird for painting the posters.

BETH HAS HER BABY !
A
little girl named Rebecca was born to Beth and Allen Hentges on
Thursday, November 5. In case you didn't know, Beth has taught
classes here at SSQQ for two years and met her husband Allen at
SSQQ as well so it's an even chance Rebecca's first words will
be "Ready And" !
Congratulations
Mom and Dad !

WEDDING BELLS ARE RINGING THROUGHOUT THE LAND !
SSQQ has been blessed with two weddings recently.
Back in September Daryl and JoAnne Armstrong got married (out in
California, I believe). We had a big party for them here at the
studio on October 3.
More recently Heidi Collier and John Moynihan were
married on Sunday, October 25 out in Tahoe, Nevada. |
SSQQ's Mary Collins officially tied the knot to
Mike Moore in late November. There is no truth to the rumor she
is changing her middle name to "Tyler"
There are four engagements including SSQQ staff
member Renee Risinger and B J Downs.
Maureen Murkawski & Kirk Swanfjord announced their
engagement this summer.
Likewise Wil Coulbourn and Leanne Blankenship also announced
their engagement this summer.
In January, 1999 Ron Moore and Kathleen Wood
announced their engagement.
Now here's a case where my memory fails me :
Michael and Christine announced their engagement,
but I cannot remember their last names.
So I am happy for them but sad for me.
I wonder if Maxine Messenger ever has these problems ?
Depending on your point of view, SSQQ is either a
very friendly place to be or extremely dangerous.
Best wishes to everyone ! |

SSQQ was recently named by the Houston Press as
Houston's best place to learn Swing Dancing
in their BEST OF HOUSTON issue in late September.
SSQQ was extremely flattered to be mentioned,
especially since it was a totally unsolicited compliment.
To the writers of the Houston Press and their readers who named us,
A very sincere Thank you very much !

BEST
PLACE TO LEARN TO DANCE SWING : SSQQ, 4803 Bissonnet
The folks
at ssqq were the first in Houston to teach Swing, Jitterbug, and Lindy.
And it shows ! Their monthly schedule offers an array of classes at all
levels,
in which with a little dedication and bravery you can pick up each
dance.
There are at least eight mirrored dance floors where multiple classes
are held.
Instructors are patient and are quick to give you more personal
attention if you need it.
After the daily lessons, the studio hosts small parties where students
can hang around
to practice their steps and move in on potential partners.
Music ranges from Glenn Miller to Tommy Dorsey. Genders are fairly
balanced,
so it’s likely you’ll always have a dance partner.
A great place to meet people.
